Our Business

Crumpler Brothers is a family owned farming and ranching business, which also includes the raising and training of Quarter Horses for competition. These horses are known as cutting horses.

"Cutting" is a modern sport that emerged from ranches of the Old West. The art of cutting was born of necessity on the cattle drives and working ranches of the 1800's. Individual cows had to be isolated, or "cut", from large herds for branding, medical treatment, or sorting. Certain specially trained horses showed an uncommon ability for separating cattle from the herd. These were the first cutting horses.

At Crumpler Brothers, we train horses to participate in ranch activities and cutting horse competitions typically sponsored by the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) or the American Cutting Horse Association (ACHA). However, there are many organizations in which a person and his/her horse may compete.

Horses trained at Crumpler Brothers have had impressive results in competition. It is our goal to raise the level of our cutting horse training program so that horses trained at the ranch consistently dominate competitions.
